A room for reflection
Meetings
We examine our own contradictions, not each other’s.
Meetings are forming.
No meeting dates or locations are listed yet. To ask about attending or help start a group, contact Mike C. at mikec@politicsanonymous.com.
What to expect
A facilitator opens the meeting, reads a Step or short reflection, and offers one question. Participants take turns sharing from their own experience.
You can listen. You can pass. You don’t need to explain your party affiliation or defend a political position.
The purpose is personal reflection: noticing where beliefs, loyalties, feelings, and actions pull in different directions.
What we ask of each other
- Speak from your own experience. Use “I.”
- No debate, campaigning, recruitment, or persuasion.
- No cross-talk: don’t interrupt, rebut, or evaluate another person’s share.
- Share the time. Allow others room to speak.
- No recording. Leave names and personal stories in the room.
- Don’t use attendance or contact information for political organizing.
Anonymity is a shared commitment. Participants are asked to protect one another’s privacy; no group can guarantee everyone’s conduct.
A suggested rhythm
One hour.
One honest question.
Groups can adapt the format while preserving the purpose and Traditions.
There is no required payment to attend. Voluntary contributions cover local meeting expenses.

A question to begin with
“When have I defended my side instead of my principles?”
What happened? What did you feel? What does that tell you about your relationship with politics?
Politics Anonymous is a peer fellowship, not therapy or professional treatment.
Think clearly without thinking alone.
You provide a room and the willingness to start.
